
Under the direction of Marsha Asquith, the Band will perform a variety of music for concert band, including medleys of familiar tunes composed by John Williams and sung by Michael Bublé, marches from England and Germany, Dvořák’s Slavonic Dance No. The Huntsville Concert Band will perform at the 32nd Panoply Arts Festival on Friday, April 25, from 6:45 to 7:30 PM on the Valley Jubilee Stage. This program has been made possible by a 2014 Arts & Cultural Grant funded by the City of Huntsville.

A reception will follow in the auditorium lobby. There is no admission charge, and tickets are not required. Daniel Hornstein will be the featured euphonium soloist in Jean Baptiste Arban’s Fantasie, Theme and Variations on The Carnival of Venice. 8 and the John Williams soundtrack to The Cowboy and the Girl, as well as a medley of classic songs as interpreted by Michael Bublé. Under the direction of Marsha Asquith, the Band will perform concert band classics by Ralph Vaughan Williams and William Schuman, a 2013 work by American composer Samuel Hazo, and transcriptions of Dvořák’s Slavonic Dance Op. The Huntsville Concert Band will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a concert in the Lee High School Auditorium on Sunday, March 16, at 3:00 PM. Members of HCB form two separate ensembles, brass and woodwinds respectively, and perform traditional Christmas tunes on the stage at Santa’s Village.
